A Collaborative Approach to Family Practice

The Division works collaboratively to support family physicians, improve primary care and enhance the wellbeing of the people in our district. We address family practice-specific challenges, promote wellness and work-life balance, and create opportunities for professional development, networking and team-based care.

Jointly funded by the Government of BC and Doctors of BC, we collaborate with Island Health, the Family Practice Services Committee, the Ministry of Health, and community partners to make care more connected and accessible. All local family physicians are invited to become members and help guide this work.

Strategic Priorities

Our work is guided by a Strategic Plan developed by our Board of Directors. In 2026, our three-year Strategic Plan will come to an end. To support the Division Board in developing an updated 2027-29 plan that reflects the current needs of our members, we are gathering feedback through our annual membership survey and our spring clinic visits.
